Week 25 from Lex's View

Hello Friends,

This is my 25th post, also known as my Silver Anniversary Post!!! Enjoy reading.....

 

Harlow and I started out the week by going to the nursing home while mom played music. We both wore pink for breast cancer awareness month!

I went to a pot luck dinner at my church. Unfortunately, I wasn't allowed to taste even one bite of the food. I was a great boy and settled beautifully.

 

Finally---I went on my very first "guys shopping trip!!!!" My uncle took me with him to go shopping at this store where I've never been before. We actually got to look in the men's department. I'll do that again please!

 

I practiced settling in the store, too.

 

I had another great new experience. I went to my very first real concert! I went to that outdoor concert when I was really little, but I was sooo little (plus it was outdoors) that I don't think it counted. Anyhow, this was a my first experience in this new to me auditorium, and it was very special concert because mom was playing in it. I really wanted to go and see her, so my Uncle volunteered to take me. Isn't he the best?!

 

During the entire concert, I settled perfectly!

I went to Wal-Mart this week, and we practiced walking around in several different aisle, including food and pet aisles.

Lexus Car Series! This one is really sleek. Although, I keep growing, so I may need a larger Lexus!

I went to Shoe Department. I had to check my face to make sure my face was looking sharp! I was disappointed that there were no dog shoes in the store. Hmmmm....

I went to the library and practiced the elevator and the stairs.

When we were taking a walk, we found this house with a ton of decortations. This one caught my eye, and I checked it out a few times. The skeleton moved up and down. Cool stuff!

I went to the post office.

I also went inside the bank for the 1st time. Usually, we go through the drive thru, which I think it MUCH better because the window lady always gives me a bone. I didn't get a bone going inside. Oh well!

Outside of Wegmans there are corn stalks. I think I'm the color of a corn stalk!

Inside Wegman's, I helped mom do some shopping. I helped her pick out a bagel from the bakery.

Then, we practiced nice walking skills.

I did a down-stay while mom got some eggs and checked that they weren't broken!

I then went to the bakery aisle. All the while, mom was pushing a little shopping cart. I did a super job ignoring the cart and walking side by side!

After all of that, Mom went to the eating area and used the WiFi. I settled for a very long time...I just love naps!!!

This week, I went to Tractor Supply. Can you believe what mom bought there?? Cat food. Totally unfair...I think I was used as a shopper's service for the cats. Fortunately, mom had a coupon for some treats, so I did get something out of the deal!

 

 

This week, I attended my very first "Pre-Placement Class." This is the orientation classes for people who want to be a puppy raiser or sitter in our region. Next time at the class, I will be the practice dog for the new people. Mom forgot to take any pictures of me, but I was in my crate (with a yummy stuffed Kong!). I was very good for the couple of hours and only a couple of times did I do a tiny whine...just to make sure mom remembered I was there!

 

I took a walk at the Plaza, while observing people, birds, and cars.

 

For part of the week, Mom left me at home, while she went on a trip to the guide dog school for a workshop for all the regional leaders and assistants. I stayed in the good care of my Uncle. Harlow and I took a lot of naps, played, and went on walks. We missed mom, but we were in great hands.

While Mom was on her trip, she got to see my "sister" Angelica!!! She was my sister who taught me lots of things before she left for college. It looks like college is a good match for Angelica--she loves playing on this slide and with all her classmates!!!

Angelica still loves water and was waiting for the water!
