Greetings to my loyal readers!
This week marks the BIG 60! That's 60 weeks of blogging and recording my journey as a guide dog puppy. Can you believe it? I've learned so much and have come so far. I have just over 3 weeks left with Mom before heading off to guide dog college. I'm not thinking of that now...I'm just taking the time to enjoy summer and being a big brother to Kinley! One day at a time!
| Kinley and I like to curl up together in his crate. It's very comfy. |
| Kinley and I went to church, and guess what? We wore matching ties!! |
| Mom says we're the cutest boys around!! |
| I'm happy! |
| Whoa! Either I'm shrinking or Kinley is growing. Which is it?! |
I C U!
(I see you!! :) |
| Look at my smile as I come to Mom! |
| Sometimes, it's fun just to hang out and be out in nature! |
| Big, Medium, and Small went hiking! |
| Kinley and I make a good "team" while walking! |
| We helped Mom get the mail. |
I taught Kinley how to do the "kibble challenge."
If we stare at it enough.... |
| We're such patient guys! |
| Okay, well, Kinley was a little less patient than me, but I suppose that's because he's only a puppy! |
| We went to a baseball game. Lots of people keep asking Mom if I'm the puppy from last year...Yep, that'd be me--about 60 pounds heavier and not quite as sleepy this year as last year! |
| I went to the movies with Mom and my aunt. It was a throwback movie day and was free! We watched "American Tail." Really quite boring--it was about mice and yep, you guessed it...CATS! UGH! I can't believe Mom had the audacity to take me to a cat movie. |
| It was dark in the cinema, but that didn't matter to me because I slept through the movie. There were lots of kids there who were loud, but I didn't let that bother me! |
What's wrong with this picture?
Flowers instead of popcorn??? |
| I'm sorry! I must close my eyes. After the cat/mice themed movie, Mom went to buy cat food. This day really went to the cats. MEOW! |
| Fortunately, we then made a stop to the dog aisle, but even then, the food wasn't for me. It was my sister Harlow's food. |
| Then, we got some human food. |
| I had a really special playdate this week! Mom's friend who raised my brother Lucky came to visit. She brought her puppy Margie (who is Kinley's age) and her pet dogs Dahlia and Ben. I had a blast!! |
| Look at my curly ears!!! |
| Margie is one fast little girl! |
| Then, all 6 of us dogs went on a hike. |
| Next, we went swimming! |
| Margie is an excellent swimmer! |
| Ha! I can swim with my eyes closed! |
We all had a wonderful time together!
Margie, Dahlia, Ben, Harlow, me, & Kinley |
| Then,we enjoyed some yummy frozen treats that Mom made. |
| My eyes are upon you two puppies.... |
| Harlow, Kinley, and I went to a baseball game. We settled very nicely together. There were 5 kids who played and ran nearby us. It was good practice to settle despite the distraction. They petted us a bit, too. Mom says we did really well. |
| Paws crossed! |
| This bone was from my sister, Luna. A year later, I'm still enjoying it! |
| I feel asleep dreaming about treats...Oh wait, no wonder. My nose was on the treat pouch. |
| There were 2 sticks, but I only retrieved one! |
| You're welcome, Harlow & Kinley! No worries! I got it! I'm Alexander the Great!!! |
This is the life!!
Can now last forever? |
| Harlow and I enjoyed a good stick together! |
| I went to a 4-H dog class. I didn't participate in the class, but just practiced watching all the other dogs. |
| I enjoyed seeing lots of different breeds of dogs. I did a great job watching, but also, checking in with Mom. I also practiced many of my skills, which I performed excellently. |
| My Guiding Eyes classmate, Iron, was there, too. We posed by this retro gas pump. |
| All the 4-H dogs practiced their skills, which was fun to observe. I did really well and settled nicely! Yay for me!! |
| This is a blurry picture, but it shows an agility course. I got to watch a dog run VERY fast through the agility course. He was super fast!! It'd be a fun sport! |
| A year ago... |
| ...a year later! |
Until Next Week,
Lex
