Week 39 from Lex's View

Hello Friends,
It's me again--the one and only Lex! I think winter is the best season ever. There's so many fun things to do, and snow--man--that's like the coolest stuff ever (yep, that's a pun on words, but it is true!) Hope you're enjoying the snow as much as I am....mom says she doubts that anyone can beat out my love for snow. I let you look at pictures and you can decide!

Ready to go skiing!

I discovered something wonderful this week. It's called its an icicle!
Basically, it's just a giant, long ice cube!
I broke it into small pieces!

I went to church and helped out with the music.

I settled by mom as she played the piano. I was such a good boy!

Happy Sunday!

Beautiful brown eyes!

Playing outside in the snow makes me just fly!

Yep, I'm a retriever!!

I went cross country skiing a couple times this week, and it was so much fun!

Look at this view and sunset!

I can even do a nice "heel" and then a "down" by mom.
I practiced wearing this backpack, but I didn't mind it being on my back at all.

In the winter months, I've picked up a hobby....taking naps by the woodstove. It is the best activity ever!! I get to be nice and cozy while catching some zzzzz's!

Sorry mom...my eyes just won't stay open!
I'm out!
Harlow and I love to snuggle.

Don't worry! The Today puppy, Wrangler, doesn't have anything on me! I have my own "orange room" blanket!

I went shopping to the grocery store and wore my boots to help protect my paws from the sand and rock salt. Plus, it's good practice for me to wear these boots in real life situations because as a guide dog, I'll wear boots when I'm working to protect my paws in the really cold weather and on the days the pavement is super hot in the summer months.

I helped mom picked out a shopping cart.

I walk with mom really nice when she's pushing a cart.

It's important to eat your greens!

Coffee helps keep the humans sane!

Just had to do a quick check of the dog aisle to make sure there weren't any sales....I got to practice my loose leash walking in this aisle, and I did a great job!

Everyone in the store loved me in my boots!

Skiing is the best activity ever!

I'm the king of the forest!

Jumping over this log is so much fun!!

Oh, mom, did you want a picture of me being still? My bad!!

Something strange has happened to MY POND where I spent many, many happy hours this summer when I was young. The water has disappeared and snow is on it. An investigation is immediately required.
Oreo was in a good mood this week. Hmmm...what does she want?! (besides the obvious of a head scratch)....Cats they think they get everything for free, even top rated scratches!

I'm the popular guy, ya know! Oreo wanted to settle by the fire by my toys & me!
This week, mom put out my toy box, and I chose some toys to play with. I selected this ball from my sister, Luna! I love this ball!
Job Listing:
A willing young man looking for a part time job.
Skills include standing on paper towels to clean up spills.
Will work for food, toys, treats, and pets.
I went for a walk in town. First, mom and I played in the snow. I had so much fun!

Then, I went on the walk. I was sure to walk nicely with mom...I wouldn't want her to slip!
Harlow is the best big sister...and she makes a fabulous pillow. She doesn't complain, even though I'm like 17 pounds heavier than she is!
I love to lay in the snow.

The snow from the "Blizzard" made me lose my body. HELP! It's missing!!!!!

I went to Dunkin' Donuts this week. I haven't been there in a very long time. I could tell it was somewhere "new," but I did a good job remaining connected with mom.

The cashier didn't say hi to me. I reallly wanted to be acknowledged because I love when cashiers tell me how handsome I am or how good I'm being. It makes my tail wag! I couldn't get this one to talk to me, but that's okay. Maybe I had him spell bound with my handsome looks!

I went to a puppy class. It was for all the tiny puppies that people go "awww" and "ohhhhh" and "Soooo sweet!" upon seeing. Honestly???!! I know I was a puppy once and got my fair share of all those humans "oooing,"but it seems unfair now that I'm the big one! Anyhow, I got to settle in the crate during the puppy class and a meeting. I also, got to play with an old raiser friend. She and I had lots of fun!

Look at how tall I am when I sit "up front" in the car!

I can see out the windows with no problem!! What fun!

I went to the bank, and I got 2 bones. I LOVE the bank because they give away free bones! Do you think they give away that green money stuff to the humans free, too???!

I met a new friend at Lowe's. He didn't talk to me, but I figured it was because he was so cold.

Inside Lowe's, I had fun exploring.

After exploring in Lowe's, mom and I played in the snow outside the store for a few minutes.

Did I mention I love to lay in the snow?!

Honestly! I was trying to help vacuum, but I just couldn't keep my eyes open. It's hard work!

Harlow and I make a good pair!

I was playing with this toy when I....yep, you guessed it....fell asleep!!!!

Harlow and I slept by the fire again!

AWWWW....my sister LOVES me!

This is one of my new ties. Don't I look very handsome?!
Mom says, "Snow dusting + Lex = perfection."
I invited over a friend, Ward, for the weekend. He is also a Guiding Eyes puppy, and he's a month younger than I am. Anyhow, his family was going away for the weekend, and he can't stay alone all weekend. So, I thought it'd be a WONDERFUL to have a ALL BOYS WEEKEND!!!!!!!

Catch me if you can!

Ward and I are the best tugging team!

I just love playing with Ward!

Harlow and me  (yeah, we let her in on our boys fun, even if she is a girl!!!)

Catch us, Ward!!

I'm the guy in the middle, in case you couldn't tell.

It's going to be a fantastic weekend!!!!
Until Next Week,
Lex
