Week 33 from Lex's View

Hello Friends,
It’s been a very unusual week. After that weekend trip to graduation, I was rather sleepy and ready to sleep in my own bed. However, I was going on another vacation!!! This is how it all worked.....

I went to church with mom. Then, I took a long afternoon nap, but just as I was starting to get into that really deep sleep, mom woke me up. Honestly?! She got Harlow and me around, and we went on a car ride.

When we got to our destination, we walk around a little bit to stretch my legs.

Then, someone arrived and mom handed the leash over to the sitter. I was very happy to see her because she’s been a friend for a long time. Mom gave me a long pet and then, walked away. It was vacation time!!!
The first night I got to my sitter's house I settled in nicely. If you look closely, there are 2 dogs on the couches. At first, I really wanted to play with the dogs, but they weren't very happy about me arriving. So, I got them memo and took a nap...I really need a shirt that says, "When it doubt, nap!"

On Day 1, I found the toy box. I wanted to know exactly what sort of entertainment I would be provided with on this so called “vacation.” So, I methodically took each item out and tested them all! It was positive entertainment!

I had to set the rules right off from the beginning! King ALEXander the Great waits in the kitchen for his meal to be served directly into his fine silver bowl.

I settled while my sitter wrapped Christmas gifts. I was a bit worried I was going to be wrapped up, too, as I was sleeping. Thankfully, there weren't any bags large enough for me. Haha--a perk of being a jumbo boy!

What shall I even call this fluffy, white animal? I was told it's a dog, but really? I think it's more feline that dog! His name is Murphy, and he was rather fun. I must admit that I did bark at him a little in the beginning...I couldn't help myself, but unfortunately, my sitter knows the same rules as mom and didn't let me get away with it. Bummer! After I discovered the rules were the same, I played the real nice game, like I'm doing in this picture. I've never seen a dog eat so slowly in my life. I couldn't help but watch him eat. I learned that if I was really nice and patient as Murphy ate, it paid really well (yep, I will work for food!). Good deal.

Here I am with the family cat-her name is Annabelle. I got rave reviews about my manners with this furry feline. I greeted her nicely, but mostly ignored her. That's one thing I've learned from my cats...they need their own space or else...!!!!
I did lots of other things, but mom didn't send me with a camera. It's high time I get an iPhone, don't you think?! After all, I'm 9 months old.

I went to the...
  • Post office
  • Dollar General
  • Walmart
  • Wegmans
I went on walks daily in a new neighborhood.

I had great house manners, even though there were lots of children toys around and lots of Christmas decorations.

I was around lots of young children, both the sitter’s kids and their friends. I was able to quickly hit it off with the kids by showing my head tilts. They were all impressed with how I can tilt my head at such large angles! That's a great conversation starter!
As it turns out, mom didn’t turn up for 6 whole days. I was just starting to think she was MIA when my sitter got me in the van to go on a short ride. Then, after we parked, I found MOM! I was happy to see her! I had a great time with my sitter and her family. There was lots of new and exciting things for me to take it. I was described as a "polite, delightful, amusing house guest." I can live with that!!!!

Until Next Week....I hear there's a reallllllly special day next week. I can't wait!!!
Lex
