Week 59 from Lex's View

Hello Readers!
It's me again....Lex! I can't believe that it's Week 59, and I've been with Mom for 59 weeks! I'm still having so much fun with Mom, Harlow, and Kinley, but I'm getting excited about heading off to college in exactly one month!
I kicked off the weekend with a bonfire. I had a great time chilling out by the campfire with Kinley and Harlow.
I went to church with Kinley. Apparently, I make a good pillow when I'm sleeping!!
My weekly photoshoot with Kinley!
I went to Walmart to help run some errands.
I'm such a good boy in the check-out line! All the cashiers dote on me!
I went to Wegmans.
When Mom is looking at food or items for sale, I'm good at settling.
Candy, anyone??!
I enjoyed cooling off in the pond!
I'm talented at sitting on stairs.
Kinley turned 15 weeks old, and Harlow & I got in the picture!
I went to Walmart again.
I helped Mom pick up the photo order.
Lots of fabric!!

I tried to convince Mom (again!) to get me my very own cell phone!

Look how tall I am! I love looking out the window when I arrive someone.

On Monday, I helped Harlow celebrate her 8th birthday!! She dressed up as a princess! Doesn't she look beautiful? I'm glad that I have a big sister who taught me how to be a nice, well mannered dog. I'm grateful Harlow is always is willing to let me snuggle with her, and she never complains about how I get to spend so much time with Mom training. Harlow has taught me so many things. She's the best college prep teacher a future guide dog can have! I'll miss you, Harlow, when I go to college! Happy Birthday, Harlow! I love you to the moon and back!

Kinley and I crossed our paws!!

WHAT? Kinley's paws are almost the same size as mine!!

Cloudy days are pretty in their own way, especially with a handsome boy in the midst! Oh wait! That'd be me!!

I went on an outing to a college campus. For part of the outing, I worked with Mom's friend, and Mom worked with Kinley. I did a great job!!
Then, I got to work for Mom for the 2nd part of the outing! We practiced a lot of stairs, and I did a great job.

We went into the pool area, which was so much fun! I wish I could have gone swimming, but Mom said I couldn't because it was a human pool. It was super hot in there, too, which was good practice for me to be in a hot environment for a short period of time!

At the end, Kinley and I settled and took a nice nap while Mom and her friend talked.
After the outing, I took Kinley swimming (it might not be a pool, but it sure is fun!!). Look at how I can pour water out of my mouth! Well, that's what it looks like at least!!

Kinley and I made ourselves very comfortable on these blankets!
Look where Kinley and I settled? The shower! We're prepared for anything with our bowls!!
I had a playdate on the tennis court with Kinley (and Harlow).
We had a blast!

Kinley is pretty fast for a young boy!
Look at me run!!
Look at me leap!
Look at me smile!
Did someone say our name?!!
We boys weren't very cooperative for our picture. Harlow was perfect, of course!
Kinley is getting tall!
Then, we went to a baseball game. Several people enjoyed petting us! I think we're more popular than the game itself!
Harlow, Uncle Lex, and I love baseball season. People can't believe how big I've gotten from last year's baseball games. They remember me as the puppy who slept through the entire game!
Kinley and I have matching baseball bandanas!
I'm ready to learn at class!!

I started out my class with a walk.

"Down" in a hula hoop!

I practiced my food bowl manners!

I showed I can do a "down" in a sled.

This is not a good picture of me!! For one of the class exercises, each of us dogs got a Kong toy with peanut butter inside. YUMMY! Then, my handler had to practice taking it away from me and rewarding with several treats.

This is one little Kong!!

mmmmmmmm this is sooo good!

At class, I got a special bandana. It's the Guiding Eyes TODAY show bandana! How do I look in orange?

After class, I was tired from all that learning!!
My Regional Manager asked me to help out another Guiding Eyes dog named Fargo in a 1:1. He has some trouble being distracted by other dogs, so Mom and I helped out!

After working with Fargo, we played together!

It was great fun!

Fargo is a really nice dog, and I hope we can play again.

My tongue usually doesn't stick out the side of my mouth, but I was hot!
I went to Walmart--the floor felt very good!

Shopping!

There's no way I can get a bag of dog food for a snack, is there??
I went on a hike and had so much fun!

We three dogs had a great time!

I love being out in nature!

Harlow and I

Do you see that??!

Got it!
Oh bummer... It's just a weed!
I had such a fun hike! After the hike, Mom made sure to check all of us dogs for ticks. It was great practice for us to be still and get checked over. I was excellent for my "tick exam!!" Mom has been practicing lots of body handling lately with me. I've been doing a good job!

....a year later!

Until Next Week,
Lex
