Week 58 from Lex's View

Helllllooooo!!
I've had a great week. I especially enjoyed my weekend, as I had a wonderful weekend getaway at the lake! Be sure to read the special announcement at the end of this post.

Yes, I'm comfortable sleeping this way!
I was a very happy doggie as we drove to our weekend destination!
I explored the cottage for a few minutes and then settled in for a nap (as did Mom!).
This picture is for my Aunt Bethany and for my Grandma Bethany (who raised Lucky!).
I took a walk around the campground.
Is that a jumbo pond?!!
Mom says it's a lake!
I had no problem walking on the metal dock!
Can we go swimming?!
I like this lakeside thing!
I had a really fun first! I went canoeing on the lake with Mom!
Look at the canoe's name! "Guide." I think that's very fitting because of my future career as a guide dog!
I was a perfect gentleman in the canoe ride. Yay for me!
I love the lake!
I went to the golf putt-putt course.
Look at this cute guy!
Then, I went to the playground!
I found this giant tree trunk. It makes me look tiny!
I practiced my "stays" on the playground.
Mom says I'm a very handsome boy!!
"Come"
Peak-a-boo!
I can. I will. I can and will climb this slide!
OR...maybe not!
Tire tunnels!
"Come"
I ate meals in a new place--the cabin.
While the humans ate their meals in the dining hall, I took a nap under the table!
During the talking, I settled perfectly. Mom was so proud of me!
I met many new friends, but this new friend was my favorite!
I settled really nicely in the cabin. It was a totally new place, and I handled it well.
On the one day, I wore my tie. Many people asked to take my picture!!

I enjoyed watching the commotion on the lake.

I loved walking and lying on the docks.
It's the Fun Ship!!
Kinley turned 14 weeks old on Sunday.
I turned 15 months on June 6th.
15 months! It kind of sounds old!
I let Kinley in the picture with me!
I like to go into Kinley's crate and curl up. This time, Kinley joined me in there! We both fit! Well, maybe not Kinley's tail!
Kinley and I love to settle together.
We are the three musketeers!
As the three musketeers, we take lots of naps together!
I visited Cricket. She is the best horse and really likes us canines!
All three of us visited with Cricket. It was Kinley's first time to see a horse, so I was able to introduce them!
Look at me on this grate!

I went to PetSmart. I practiced walking nicely and my skills in this really good smelling place before going into the store.
I practiced settling in the fish aisle.

I practiced my "kennel" command in this cool dog house.

This box looked like fun to climb and walk on!

This cat really, really didn't like me. All I did was sniff the glass crate, and the cat jumped up and put his paws on the glass. I feel bad for this cat because he doesn't know that some dogs (like ME!) are really nice and gentle with cats. I hope he gets a good canine friend one of these days who teaches him that some dogs are nice!
When I walk into a room, ALL the cats look at me!!
I took time to read "The Dog Bone Times." Wayyyy better than the NY Times!
Joann's Fabrics
L-E-X
That's my name!
I practiced settling as Mom looked at some pattern books.

15? What does that mean?
Oh right! I'm 15 months old!
14?
Yep, I'm the 14th Guiding Eyes puppy in my family!
Wreaths anyone?
Kohl's = boring to me
Dick's Sporting Goods
Can we go kayaking together next, Mom???!!!!
WOW! Look at these boots. They're taller than I am!

There were lots of bikes!

Mom had me practice a down/stay as she used this bike equipment. I stayed perfectly!

Then, we did the same thing with the treadmill, except the treadmill's belt didn't move.

Let's go golfing!!
You're looking at the new and upcoming golfer named LEX!
Do you have any idea how boring it is to watch Mom play golf? A total novice, that's for sure!
I rode a public transportation bus. It was excellent practice for me. Riding in buses feel different because I shift around on the floor. I did a good job using my muscles to stay still!

JcPenney
This floor felt nice and cool to me!
Settling in the dressing room
I went to a coffee shop. I was such a wonderful boy and took a long nap!
The coffee shop employee really liked me!
Aeropostale-I've never been there before!

Aeropostale
Look at how I arranged the bed in my crate!

Paws crossed!

I had a blast swimming!

S stands for Smile!
Kinley and I are tired at the end of the day!

Kinley and I went to our first baseball home game!

Kinley and I had to get a few things covered!

Kinley fell asleep in my arms!

I wore my baseball bandana!

These next few pictures are not of me, but....
Recently, there was a photo journal published about Guiding Eyes.
Guess who was in the picture?
Evita and Halsa (My Mama!)
Evita is the daughter of my Mom Halsa from another litter, so that makes her my half-sister. Plus, Evita is Kinley's Mom!
My mom enjoys playing with the other Guiding Eyes broods, including daughter, Evita (orange collar).
My mom is the dark red yellow Lab!

NEWS! NEWS!
It’s breaking news!
It’s hot off the presses news!
My In For Training (IFT) date has just been changed to July 21st. I guess that means that they think I’m ready to leave Mom and make my career choice. It’s exciting to start out on my very own adventure. Mom has taught me everything, and now, it’ll be up to me to decide what I want to do. Choices! Choices! I better start thinking! But first, I’m going to make a bucket list of fun things to do before I leave for college!

Until Next Week,
Lex
