Week 11 from Lex's View

Hi Everyone! It's been another week. This week was really busy for me, and I got to experience lots of new places, things, people, and animals.

I helped out at a yard sale that benefited Guiding Eyes. I was a bit hit!

I sat with my mom for awhile.

Then, I got to play tug with Ward.

I liked to drink some water, and then.....

....I splashed in the water bowl!

Please....I need more water so I can repeat the water bowl cycle!
Then, we got tired!

Ward is wondering why I am playing with his bone!

I went to a small festival. There were horses walking in the street.

I got to see a jump house.

Did you know there were kids in there?!

There were kids on this swing set. I've never seen flying people before...NEAT!

There was a band playing that was cool to watch.

My Sunday Best!

Mom and I hung outside this plaza.

After awhile, mom gave me this bone to chew, as we hung out.

I got a VERY exciting package in the mail!! It was a box full of treats. The treats are from Cloud Star, the company that is donating training treats to Guiding Eyes. Plus, as a bonus, Cloud Star gave a really good coupon for their treats for Guiding Eyes. So, my mom decided to stock up on some treats to me. Needless to say, I didn't object! I think I'll have enough for a long time now!!

I showed very good self control, even though they smelled delicious.

I got to check out this car that moves. Mom, can I please drive it?!

This one has really neat wheels!

I had a fun outing with my friend, Marah, who is a German Shepherd GEB dog.

We played on the tennis court together.

She was rather hard to keep up with, but I think I did a good job!

I did my best German Shepherd impersonation with my ears! Can I be her stunt double?

Then, we went to the park. There were a ton of Canadian Geese!!!

I played on this new-to-me playground.

Then, we went "shopping" at Maurices. I was really hot from the park, so I loved this nice, cool store!

I found the coolest spot in the store.

Marah and I were very patient.

I was patient while mom tried on a pair of shoes.

I went to puppy class. We practiced "settling" a lot. I did well, but I do admit that I had to let out a couple of barks...JUST to make sure that mom realized I was laying at her feet. I had to be sure she wasn't have a forgetful moment.

We practiced bowl manners. I sit when mom holds the bowl.

And, remain in the sit while she sets in on the ground.

Then, I EAT when she gives me the "Free" command.

My friend Posy really likes me....I think I made her blush!!!

Mom and I went on a trip to go visit my Aunt in PA. I had a great time! We kicked off the trip by going to the mall. It was my first time there.
This little boy LOVED me. He petted & petted me and even gave me kisses. I did very well!

Mom and I spent some time sitting on the bench, watching the people walk by. I chewed my bone, too. Lots of people talked to me.

This person was super rude. She didn't even say hi to me. Ooopps...mom says she isn't a real human. My bad! I kept finding these people all over the place. I had to check each one, just to make sure they were fake.

I went to JcPenny.

No, mom....I'm not dreaming about shoes. Sorry!

I walked outside the mall, too.

Two buses went by us on the sidewalk. They made a loud sound when they passed us.

There are yellow flowers in the city!!!

Thomas the Train and me

Walking on a loose leash

I went to Macy's

Macy's has the best floor....super cool on a hot day!
Sitting and watching again

This ground was uneven...something like a little hill.

Can you believe what I found in the mall? WATER!!!!

But, they wouldn't let me in there.....

I got to watch this reallllllllly neat thing called an "escalator." Mom says someday I will get to ride it! Woo hoo!

There are even footings in the mall. I spotted this one and just had to show mom. There was dirt under it!

I went out to dinner at Olive Garden. I was super good, even as we walked in past all the people eating at their tables.

I slept through the meal and didn't get up until mom said so. Nothing like catching up on a few zzzzz.

I must confess that I made myself comfortable at the end of the meal.

I loved this water bowl my aunt has. Mom says it used to be "Angelica's" water bowl, but now, I've claimed it.
I got to visit with my aunt's kitty, Ella Mae. She liked to sit up somewhere high (like on the couch) and watch me from a distance. I was hoping we could play together, but she doesn't like tug. Oh, well.

I got to take lots of walks in the neighbourhood. I got to see this house that's being built. There were really loud sounds. One of the contractors saw me and visited with me. It was fun!

It was hot outside, so I took a little break in the shady grass. I got to see a ton of squirrels on my walks. I couldn't quite figure out what they were, but I got to look at them run around. Then, I decided they weren't that interesting.

Can you see me? I'm sitting on the map! I found this painting at school.

I decided to put my paws in NY...my home state!

I also found this smiley face. He looks happy.
Before I came home from my mini-vacation, mom took me to PetSmart. In case you can't guess, PetSmart is just for PETS!! I think its the best store ever!

I checked out the entrance. I picked something up off the ground, and mom didn't know what it was...so she said "OUT!" (that's the command to drop whatever is in my mouth). So, I did as she asked and got a ton of treats. As it turns out, it was part of a doggie bone. Mom was impressed that I did so well on my "out" command because that was super hard....it was food!!

I have to make at least one silly face. :)

Toys of all shapes, sizes, colors, and sounds

Dog food

I practiced "Get Dressed" with this backpack. That was so much fun!
Sitting pretty!

I practice my "kennel" command.

There were animals in the store. There were other dogs in the store....a tiny dog and a little black Lab puppy.

I went to Rue 21. That was a pretty cool place. There were lots of clothes in there.

Setting while mom browses...

I went into a dressing room for the first time. That was pretty--boring! It was really small in there, but I didn't mind.

They put my king chair in the dressing room...now, where is my crown?

I thought you'd like to see how much I look like my daddy, Maestro. Mom saw this picture of me and remembered she had a similar picture of my daddy. There's no hiding it...I'm a daddy's boy.
Until Next Week,
Lex
