Week 9 from Lex's View

It's July!!!

I went to a graduation party for a friend of my mom's. She raises dogs for Guiding Eyes, too. I went to the party and had a grand time!! I got to see and play with lots of dogs. When mom and her friends ate, I took a nap, and I wouldn't wake up for anything...people joke all the time that they think that I'm nearly dead when I sleep. I don't think that's funny...I'm just a really deep sleeper.

I played in this field at the party
.

I met this tiny puppy. She's a Chesapeake Bay retriever and is really cute. All of a sudden, I feel totally grown up and huge!

I met this really cool guy named Kilroy. He told me that when he was a wee little thing he was friends and classmates with my favorite Aunt Henrietta (that'd be my mommy Halsa's sister!).

My new friend, Scully, and me...we loved playing together!

Youngest to Oldest:
Scully, me, and Derry

We all turned our heads at the same time.

Yellows Labs! :)

I visited the nursing home again.

All the residents enjoyed petting me and seeing how big I've gotten. Someone even thinks that my fur is darker than ever. I slept like this while mom played some music.

I went to another baseball game.

I went to Lowe's in the garden center. Wow-that place was full of exciting happenings.

I explored many different areas.

I left my paw prints on the floor! The lady was watering all the pretty flowers, and the ground was really wet, which I LOVED! The only thing that confused me was that it looked like the water was coming from this HUGE black snake, and when she walked with it, it looked like the snake was moving. I had to watch and figure that one out. As it turns out, it was a giant hose like we have at home! Phew...

Do I pass for a bulldog?

Ohhh the cool ground!

Playground fun.

This week, I spent a lot of time working. I helped my mom split and stack firewood. Well....to be totally honest, I was the supervisor because I got to hang out in the shady area and watch her work. It's a good deal!

I got to watch this weed wacker in motion. It was entertaining, but nothing spectacular! I also got to hear lots of new noises this week...like saws, hammering, machines, etc...I don't seem to be bothered by any of the sounds, which is great!

I got to hang out with this tractor. I can fit perfectly in it's bucket. I'm wondering if I could go for a ride in it?

Climbing

This is my funny face of the week! I think I look scary.

I went to my very first restaurant! I loved it and can't wait to go back again.

The BEST part was that the floor was nice and cool...so I took a long nap. And, you won't ever believe what this place has. An ice cube machine!!!!!!!!!!!! Have I ever mentioned that ice cubes are the best things (besides treats!) in the world? At home when I hear ice cubes, I go running to the kitchen as fast as I can. So when I heard the machine at the restaurant, I thought for sure I'd get one, but mom said that I couldn't have these ice cubes at the restaurant. I was disappointed, but I got over it and took a nap!

I went to this town that's bigger than my hometown. It was great fun to explore.

There was quite a bit of traffic, and there were other people, too!

This was a huge set of stairs.

I made it Mother!

Hmmm...what is on the menu? I'll take chicken.

Mom and I took lots of breaks from walking on the street. I people watched for awhile, but there were lots of people, so it got boring pretty fast. So, I did what I love to do...nap!

I went to another class this week. I worked with another person for most of the class. We played lots of fun games. One game we played was "Duck, Duck, Goose." We had to sit in a circle while one dog/raiser was the "Goose." The the group leader (who was my mom) took the dog's leash and did "ghost handling" around the circle...that means that the raiser didn't have their dog's leash, but had to keep the dog connected without using the leash. It was a fun game.

Mom says I look like a big dog in this picture.

My friend Ward and me.

Over-Stay

Go place! Mom and I have been practicing this one a lot, and I did great, even though I was at different environment and it was a different mat.

We all did the kibble challenge. I love my name! It's nice and short!

It's hard to tell, but I lost another tooth. It's on the bottom where there's a little blood. That means that I've lost a total of 5 teeth. Thankfully, I'm getting replacements (even though I didn't order them!). YAY!

I just had to check to make sure Harlow was smiling for the camera.

Smell the flowers

Me?? I ate a flower?
This is bunny! Maybe someday, I'll get to meet an alive bunny.

I got to hang out at this pool party. I wasn't allowed to swim in it, but I had lots of fun watching poolside.

HELP!!!! I think a shark is coming!!!!! Oh wait...false alarm. It's just a human.

Happy Independence Day!
Conferring with my sister...

This corn must be the tallest corn in the history of corn! It's head high before the fourth of July when usually people want it to be knee high then. Oh wait..I think they were referring to a human knee....

All ready and waiting patiently to get out of the car for the parade. I was in the parade with the nursing home where I visit.

More waiting!

I rode on the facility bus for the parade. I even looked out the window for a lot of it, so people could see me. It was lots of fun. I can't wait for next year!

This guy is "Uncle Sam." Not sure why I haven't heard of him before if he's my uncle.

I went swimming later in the day!

Working on posing for the camera.

This is the defintion of "Paws Crossed!" :)

                                                                 Until Next Week,
                                                                          Lex
