Week 40 from Lex's View

Loyal Readers and Friends!

This post is very special. It's my 40th post on this blog. That means you've been sharing pictures of me, in my journey towards becoming a guide dog, for 40 weeks. Is that unbelievable or what?! In commemoration of this momentous event, I'm sending everyone---cyber puppy kisses, wags, and hugs!!! Happy Reading, & thanks for following my journey!

In my last post, I mentioned my friend, Ward, was over for the weekend. On Saturday, he and I went to some sporting events at a college.

First of all, we went to a basketball game. We watched part of the women's game.

Ward and I got a few things discussed!

I watched the game a little bit, but it was rather boring.

Ward really enjoys basketball!
When the women's basketball game ended, we went over to the swimming pool. Just when I thought mom was going to let us go swimming, she said that we were going to watch the others swim. How disappointing!

Mom didn't say, "Cheese," so we didn't look the camera!

Nice boys posing for a nice picture!

I really enjoyed watching the swimmers. There were even divers flying downward into the pool. They can splash the water as much as I do!

It was super hot in the swimming pool area, so we didn't stay too long. We went back over to the basketball court. It was time for the men's game to start!

Ward and I ended up crashing!

Ward and I rode nicely together in the car.
Happy Sunday! How do I look in my Sunday best?!

Sunday night there was this really big football game. It's called the Super Bowl! (I think it should be called the Super BALL!).

Anyhow, mom dressed up Harlow and me in our football gear.

We wore our Manning brother uniforms! Did you know that Eli Manning (he's #10) is a supporter of Guiding Eyes?!

WHAT? My cousin, Ella Mae, wore a Bills uniform. REALLY?

Maybe she can be a guide cat after all...she didn't mind wearing the shirt, so maybe she can wear a guide cat harness!  I think it's because I'm a pawsitive influence on her!
Guess who came on a visit?!! Wrangler! I thought it was going to be the Today puppy, but.....
....as it turns out, Wrangler is my Aunt's vehicle! Maybe another time, it'll be the Today puppy visiting me.

Harlow and I went for a ride!

We kicked off the week with another big snow storm! YAY! I LOVE SNOW!

I could run in the snow all day!

Shaking off all the snow!

We got so much snow that Harlow and I could barely run in it!

Snow Buddies!

I went skiing with mom. The snow was very deep, and she had a hard time skiing through it. So, I keep lying down in the snow, waiting for her to catch up with me!
Lowe's is a great place to go for walk when it's cold outside.

I checked out the garden center. I used this empty shelf as a footing practice. Yay for me!

Mom--you're crazy if you think "Lex is the Great" is taking a shower at Lowe's!

It's hard to see, but this pile of snow is very tall. Unusual... something that's taller than I am!

I went to the library with mom. It took a LONG time, and I was very patient. Several people petted me, and I was on my best behavior.

HELLO! This sign should read "Reserved for Guide Dogs or Guide Dogs in Training." When I become president.....

I went to the grocery store. Everyone LOVES my boots. People talk to mom all the time about it. One person even took my picture. Awww--the life of a celebrity!

Cure for a long check out line? A selfie!!

Aren't I handsome?!

This week, I had my obedience class. I got to work with a handler who I've never worked with in a class before.

I did a great job!

My over command is really good now!

Smile :)

My friend, Iron, and I had to practice walking by each other nicely.

I got to practice body handling with different people.

I worked with another person for the rest of class. Here were are practicing the skill of settling...that's when I chill out without bugging my handler for treats or attention.

In case you're wondering, this picture is NOT of me. It's my half brother, Ikea (we have the same dad). He's only 2 weeks older than I am. Mom has Ikea for a few days, while I went to a raiser on a college campus (that's where I'm writing this post from!). Somehow, I think Ikea is having a lot of fun with mom....yep, I can see him now playing with all of MY toys and sleeping on MY dog bed. Oh well. It's nice to share, and after all, he is my 1/2 brother!

Here's a picture of me on my home-switch. I went everywhere on campus! She even took me out to eat at a local restaurant. I'm being a very good boy. Oh, yeah, and I even had to help her with homework. Good thing I've been studying hard in class.

Today, I turned 11 Months! That means in 1 month I will be a year old! Wow-Where has time gone?
It seems like just yesterday I was this cute little guy......

.......Everyone go "AWWW!"
Until Next Week,
Lex
