Week 41 from Lex's View

Hello All,
It's Lex here. Hope you've had a wonderful week. It's very cold and snowy, but I love this weather... In case you’re bored, here are some of my favorite snow activities: dunking my head in the snow (and getting a white face), lying in the snow (and making a snow angel), and running up a big hill of snow and playing “King of the Mountain.” All of these suggestions are Lex tested and approved!

I started out last weekend still on my "home-switch" with  the other puppy raiser. She took me to a fun playdate with some friends. It was a blast!

I played with my friends Ginko and Reba.
I also got to play with a really little puppy named, Yardley. He's tiny, and I'm huge...but I'm a gentle giant and was really nice to Yardley. Mom says that my face is really funny in this picture!

Ginko and I were intent on getting the toy!

Yardley thought I was a good pillow! That or else he was trying to eat me! I can't decide which it was!

Come on guys! It's not time to leave. It's time to PLAY!

I loved snuggling while on my home-switch, too. The best thing ever is when a human sits on the floor, and I sit in their lap. I've noticed something lately--that humans' laps seem to be shrinking. I just can't fit in their laps as well. Weird!

After I got home from my switch, I got my 11 month birthday photoshoot!

I always let Harlow in my month birthday photoshoot!

Have I mentioned that I love to play in the snow?

Harlow and I went to the nursing home.

The residents love petting me. I'm so nice and tall that the residents can reach my head nicely!

Harlow and I went to the park. We took a nice walk around. There were children sledding. People say dogs are noisy...you should have heard those kids! I think they were having a good time, so I wanted to go play with them. But, mom said that I wasn't invited to that playdate. Instead, mom had me practice focusing on my good manners and walking nicely beside her. I got yummy rewards when I did a good job focusing on my manners. YAY!

Then, we played the tennis court...Although, it didn't look much like a tennis court with all the snow! We practiced staying while mom ran ahead and then called us to "Come." It was a super fun game, and it helped me practice my recall command.
I went skiing with mom.
Is there anyone else in the whole world?? This picture makes me wonder!

Everywhere I go, there are tall piles of snow. This pile is at Lowe's.
I practiced fitting into small spaces. As a guide dog, I'll have to sometimes fit in small places, like on buses, trains, airplanes, or such. It's good practice for me!
I practiced walking up this little weird set of stairs.
Something is on MY blue carts. I can't very well practice sitting on the carts, can I? But, those pillows look comfy! I'll take one of each color please.

I decided it would be fun to go on a picnic...I selected a blue cooler. This will be for my bacon flavored water.
Next, I had to pick out a grill. I found this tiny one, but I don't think I'd be able to fit enough hotdogs and hamburgers on it for my appetite! After all, I'm a growing boy!

So, I found this one. This should be big enough!
Here's the charcoal...whatever that's used for!

Here's my table!
I practiced settling at the table. I did a good job, chilling out with mom. All the picnic planning makes a boy tired!
The snow makes for beautiful pictures.

Look these leaves and weeds are the same color as I am.

Mom says we are a very stunning pair. I must agree!

And he completely lost his head!

Playing in the woods!

Something happened to the trees. I think they got spray painted!

Hey Mom! I'm a big boy. I can walk myself!

I went to puppy class with mom. She was teaching the class for the puppies, and obviously, I had to go along to supervise! It's a tough job, but someone has to do it! As you can see in this picture, I'm over in the far right corner....the puppy is Yardley.

Want to shoot some hoops?

This guy in Walmart has a very long beard.

Help! Which size am I?

I can't believe mom has never taken me to the tie section of Wal-Mart. I think I'm deprived!
Look! I found Wrangler, the Today Show puppy.  Oooppps...it's only a shirt. Bummer!

Another picture, mom?! Really?
Mom took me to the sporting goods section.
Basketballs!!

Tennis balls!
I'll buy the whole bag, please!

Baseball bats in every size and color. I can't wait for baseball season!!

I really should start weight lifting to build up my arm muscles.
These must be treats for fish. They smell yummy!
I helped mom pick out a birthday card.

Patrick Starr was in desperate need of a nap, so I said I'd put him to bed. As it turns out, I fell asleep, and his eyes are still open. Go figure!!!

Harlow and I got Valentine's in the mail from my brother, Lucky!!!!

It was so nice of Lucky to send a Valentine to Harlow and me.

Aren't they cute?!

Nothing better than a winter nap.
I watched my uncle shovel snow.

Skiing is my favorite activity ever!

Wishing all my friends a wonderful Valentine's Day tomorrow!

What a tiring photoshoot!
I heart you!!!

Until Next Week,
Lex
