Week 42 from Lex's View

Hello All,
This week, I turned 50 weeks old, and I've been with mom for 42 of those weeks. Wow-that means in 2 weeks, I'll be a year old. I'm going to be the birthday boy! Anyhow, it's been another fun week with mom. Read all about it!

I started out the weekend with my favorite winter activity--skiing. I saw a horse. You really can't see the horse in the picture, but I swear she was there!! My nose doesn't lie!
On Valentine's Day, I had a special outing. I went to my mom's Valentine's concert. Since Mom couldn't take me herself, my Uncle took me. I really wanted to go, so I was very happy my Uncle took me. I was in the best of hands!

I got my seat.

Then, I took a nap--a long nap!! When I woke up, the concert was over. Too bad I slept through it!

On Sunday, I went to church and also went to a potluck dinner. I was a great boy.
I went to Tractor Supply.
Look at these toys! This is called "toy sniffing."

Selfie Time

I had to get my horizonal height measurement.

Should I buy this for mom?

Harlow and I enjoyed napping by the woodstove.

Napping is vital for a growing man.

My pawprints in the snow

Never walk alone

I played in this box. I was even able to do a sit in it, even though I barely fit!

I made a stop to the Post Office.

Mom and I took a walk outside the Post Office. I did a really nice job with my loose leash walking.

I went to the bank, and I watched to be sure that I got a bone. Sure enough, I did!

This picture is for my brother, Lucky. For a minute, I thought I'd found him, but it turned out to be shirts that said his name. I think my brother should buy one of these shirts at Wal-Mart. Where are the shirts that say "Lex"?

Mom took me to the shoe aisle. Why we had to go there I don't understand. I already have my boots!!

I made a stop to pick up some pictures from the Photo Department.

I went skiing with mom, and when I took a break, mom thought it was funny how I was lying in the snow. I don't see what was so funny!

This week, mom brushed my fur. I have two colors of fur. The top layer is red, and my bottom layer is white (and fluffy!). She got so much fur off of me that I thought there wouldn't be anything left of me!

I went to the reading program at the library.

I settled really well at the library.

I went to Peebles.

Visiting the shoe department

Visiting the clothing racks mean only one thing..........

.....going to the dressing room. As you can see in this picture, I was dozing and could not keep my eyes open.

My training class was cancelled because of a really bad snowstorm. It was sad that I couldn't go see my friends, but I had a nice night at home!

I went on a shopping trip to the mall. We started out by going to JcPenny's. Nope...not trying on these shoes! I might throw out my back!!

It happened again! The clothing rack led to.....

....the dressing room!

Hello Friday? Friday must have been rough for this guy --he must have forgotten where he put his head!

Mom and I practiced settling at various benches.

The mall had a mini golf course set up. Can I play?

Several young children visited me. I did a very nice job greeting them politely.

We practiced walking up and down stairs and then, watched the escalators.

Look! The people are floating!!! I had great fun watching the escalators. One day when I'm in professional training at the guide dog school, I'll learn how to ride an escalator. I can't wait!!

I went to this cool store that has lots of delicate items for sale. I made sure that my tail didn't wag on the shelves! I was very well behaved.

I thought this lady was real at first. Bummer...the fake people are never as fun as the real people.
Mom and I took a ride on the elevator.

This elevator has a glass window.

It was super cool!!

I can see people down there!

I made a really cool discovery!! There are trees in the mall. It was weird because I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get to the dirt. I started an investigation, and every tree I found in the mall, I checked it out. Mom says it was great for me to practice walking on an unusual surface like this blue grate.
Peak a Boo!
I went out to eat to Ruby Tuesday's. I was such a good boy.
I settled perfectly during the meal (it takes humans a lot longer to eat than us Labs!). I made friends with all the waitresses because they all loved how I was sleeping and how handsome I am!
I took a nap while I waited for mom.

Look! There's a living room in the mall!
I went to Shoe Department.

Look at this shoes! They look like real guy shoes. Weird though---it says "Cat" on them. It really should say "Dog."

Nap time!!!!
It might be cold outside, but I'm warm and cozy!!!
Until Next Week,
Lex
