Week 44 from Lex's View

Hello to all my wonderful friends and readers,

This week, I turned 52 weeks old. Wow-that makes me sound like an old guy! I think it's better to say "I'm 1!"  I've been blessed to share 44 of those weeks with my puppy raiser mom. We've walked a lot of miles together. She's taught me lots of things, and I've taught her some things, too. Thanks for sharing my journey, and I can't wait for the adventures that are still to come! Read all about my week!

Up until Wednesday, I was still on my home-switch. I had lots of fun going to work and hanging out at home, too. I'm  good friends with the family dog, Irie, a Golden Retriever.

Umm..I kinda forgot it was the toys I was suppose to chew and not the toy box! Uh oh!
I enjoyed going to work. I settled underneath the desk and took a nap. I got to practice lots of stairs and got really good at walking upstairs slowly. Yay for me.
Look who found MY cart at Lowe's?!! Olympia, the dog mom got while I was on my home-switch.

I went grocery shopping at Aldi with mom.

I was really good in the check-out line.
When I got home from my home-switch, I found another dog in my house. It was Olympia! She was supposed to go home to her raiser, but her raiser got sick and couldn't take her back. So, I got to have a guest until the weekend! Woo Hoo!

I went to school this week.

I worked with a different handler. I was a very good boy!

We practiced "small slices," in which someone put a hula hoop over us while we held a sit. I did a fantastic job!

Then, we practiced walking thru the hula hoop.

I lifted my legs up when I walked over it. Some dogs have a hard time lifting up their legs, but not me! Mom and I have practiced my back leg dexterity!

Walk in the hula hoop then....

........sit!....

....then, down!

I wore my special birthday ribbon from my brother, Lucky! I love it!!

Harlow, Olympia, and I had fun playing at this park!

Look at my German Shepherd ear impersonation!

Am I the ONLY ONE that looks at the camera?? Really girls, get in the game!

One of each:
Yellow Lab, Black Lab, and German Shepherd

Best Friends!

Selfie time!

Come on...are you coming, Olympia?

We played more later.

I got the toy!

HA! Look at that move by Lex! He makes a sharp turn and prevents Olympia from gaining access to the toy!
Friday, March 6th was my birthday! I started out my birthday by "going out to eat" with Harlow and Olympia. Since it was my special day, I put a request in for bacon on the top of our food.
Mmmm...I smell bacon (Beggin Strips are the yummiest!)!!!

We all took a morning nap by the woodstove.

I have fun playtime with Olympia. We get along really well. I was soo happy I could have a visiting friend.

We love playing tug.

Look at my ears!

After playtime, Olympia and I were very tired.

I wanted a late morning snack, so mom opened a bag of pupcorn for us. I shared with my friends. I wish it was my birthday everyday!

I had my photoshoot outside with my "months" birthday sign.

Harlow and I have enjoyed 10 whole months of friendship together!

Bad shot, mom! I was just eating a little ice! Gotta stay hydrated.
How do I look in my St. Pat's bow tie?! (Thanks, Auntie!)

Don't I look regal?
Enjoying the moment...

Cool me!

Look how I've grown!

Enough of this hat!
I ate dinner out of this really cool dish. Its shape is really cool, so I can practice my mental skills of figuring out how to get the food out of the maze. Don't worry--it didn't stump me. I had it figured out in no time!!

I got a reptile for my birthday! I've always wanted one, but now, mom says I'm finally old enough to have my very own snake! Okay, it is a toy snkae, but it's super fun. It has lots of squeakers in it, and I love going around the house with it in my mouth, squeaking and squeaking it!

My grandma made a cake and my aunt decorated it. Unfortunately, it was a human cake, so I couldn't eat it.
Make a wish!!

Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to me!
Harlow and I got one of our favorite snacks ever...carrots!!!

I enjoyed some evening sleep by the woodstove and snuggled with mom while we watched some movies.

I ended my birthday with a sleepover party. Yep, I'm in there...it's just my head you can see!

This is my birthday collage!

Stay tuned for a special "year in review" post....
Until Then,
Lex
