Week 45 from Lex's View

Hello all,
This is my first week of fun, training, and sleeping since I turned the big 1 year old. It's been a busy week, so read all about it!

I had one more day with my friend, Olympia, last Saturday. Don't you think she and I would make a good team of horses, don't you think?

Yellow Lab, German Shepherd, Black Lab!

I went to the nursing home while mom played music.

Do you like my bow tie and Harlow's hair bow?

We made ourselves comfortable! I love sleeping on Harlow!

Rite Aid
Lotion anyone? I know there are lots of dry hands and paws out there!

Mom, you really think I need mascara??

Waiting to check out in lines is one of the best ways to practice self control (around other people), settling, and of course, looking handsome!

I helped get a DVD out of the Redbox. Mockingjay here we come!!!

Tractor Supply
Something very strange is happening at my store. There are chicks!! Mom, can I have one??!! Please??! I'd even feed it, water it, and snuggle with it. I'm a big boy...I'm a year old!

The dog aisle is such a fun place. Did you know that I count how many dropped pieces of kibble are in the aisles...well, sort of, but I do know where there's dropped kibble!

Since the weather has been so nice, mom and I walked outside the plaza for a few minutes before going into Walmart.

Clothes?

AND?? And what?

Mom found a clothing rack that had items for $1.

I love to look at mom while she shops.

Checking out at Walmart!

Walk with me!
My friend, Iron, and I went on an outing together. Iron is half my age (that'd be 6 months old). I'm a very good example to him, and we had a blast together.

We went shopping at Maurices!

Look at my reflection!

Handsome guy!

There were $5 shoes!
I went to Old Navy.

Wait! This dog is not wearing a proper certification jacket!!

Joann's Fabrics
Have you ever seen so much fleece?! Can you imagine how many fleece tug toys we could make?!

Flowers?

I went to a mall where I've never been before. Fun!
I found the guy, Snoopy, who is on my bandana!!!

Rue 21

Bon Ton
Hallmark
Look at these book shelves!
Snoppy gets around from town to town!

No worries, Mom! Got my ducks lined up!

Shoe Department

JcPenny

Wendy's
We went to Wendy's for lunch. There was a very long line, which required lots of patient settling. I was such a good boy!!! Mom was very proud. Someone else in line asked if I was going to get a burger. I WISH!

I fell asleep during the meal. When mom got her water and ice, I knew exactly where the ice cubes were coming from! Can I have some ice, please?!

I went to the library to help mom pick up her book.

With all the warm weather, there's lots of water everywhere. Harlow, mom and I played in the puddles!

Tall shadows!

This is my "bored" look!

I practiced unusual footings at the Lowe's parking lot.

Mom and I took a walk on a sidewalk near some heavy traffic. Just think when I'm a guide dog, I' will help my person get safely across intersections like this!

Lowe's is one of my favorite stores!!

I checked out the little sheds outside. I was trying to read the manual, but I was rather confused!

I practiced my "load up" command!

Around these yellow poles, mom and I practiced my "figure 8" loose leashing walking.

Handsome head tilt!

Inside Lowe's, I practiced settling. When I was settling, I tried to decide which rug looks better with my complexion!
There are lots of seeds in Lowe's.
CARROTS! We definitely need to plant some carrots this spring!

Look at all these clocks. They aren't moving!

I went to the wood aisles. Let's build something together!

Snow balls!!!

This is the snowball name challenge!

Walmart
Look at the dog treats! I'll take one of each!

I made mom smile...she was looking intently at the sale rack, and she looked down at me after a couple of minutes...and I was lying down, perfectly auto settled! Yay for me!

Wink!
I helped mom get some oil for the vehicle.

Wow--humans must eat a lot--look at all the freezers!
When we checked out at Walmart, the employees and mom were talking about me. They were discussing how old I am...when the lady clerk heard that I just turned a year old, she started singing "Happy Birthday" to ME!! Now, that's special!

Wegmans
I practiced my loose leash walking!

Look at all the green flowers!

I went to Walmart again.

Dollar Store
I helped mom pick out a balloon for my grandma's birthday!
Spring is on it's way! The weather is warmer, the snow is melting, and mud is coming! Do you know what mud means? It means that I get muddy paws. So, I get my paws wiped off. It's good practice for me to stand still and get my paws handled/wiped.

Until Next Week,
Lex
