Week 50 from Lex's View

Hello All,
This week is very special. It marks my 50th week of blogging and my 50th week of being with Mom!! What a difference 50 weeks makes! I've grown from that little 10 pound puppy to almost 80 pounds. I've learned numerous skills that I'll use for my future career as a guide dog. Read all about how I spent my 50th week with Mom!

In my 50th week with Mom, I started out the week by going to church. I've been going there since I was a little puppy. I'm a vital part of the music team.
My 50th week with Mom calls for a special touch...a bow tie for my Sunday best!

In the 50th week with Mom, many flowers appeared for the occasion!

In my 50th week with Mom, I'm still getting my photo taken.

I've learned the best part of the a photoshoot is when Mom says, "FREE!"

Muddy? Who is Muddy? It can't possibly be ME! My name is Lex!
I went to the park. There's this cool waterfall that I watched.

In my 50th week with Mom, I went rock climbing! What fun!!

In my 50th week with Mom, I played at the tennis court.

After playing, I practiced some obedience. Can you guess which command this is? Yep--it's OVER!

In my 50th week with Mom, I practiced settling a lot! I went to Wegman's with Mom while she used her laptop.

Harlow and I went on a walk. There was a beautiful sunset, and it was windy. Look at our ears. "We're Flying!!"

There's light at the end of the tunnel!!

There's nothing like the playground on a foggy morning!

In my 50th week with Mom, I practiced my best smile! :)

In my 50th week with Mom, I continue to amaze Mom with how well I walk on leash.

I practiced my coordination by walking over these boards in the ground. In my 50th week with Mom, I got an A+ in coordination!

I went to Wegman's again. I got this routine down!

Cheese, anyone?

How about a cup of tea?

In my 50th week with Mom, I was Mom's practice buddy while she practiced the clarinet. She has a big concert coming up, and I guess I got the sneak peak!
In my 50th week with Mom, I went to the library for reading hour. Don't I look regal?!
I haven't been to reading hour in awhile, and the librarian commented on how much I've grown and how I've gotten ever calmer. Good report for my 50th week with Mom.

I was doted on by one young reader!!

The reading dog--yep, that's me!

In my 50th week with Mom, I went to school. Before class, I had to sit through a team meeting. Boring!!

For much of class, we trained outside. It was a beautiful evening!
I was able to work with one of our puppy sitters, since Mom was teaching class. I was an excellent boy for her!
We practiced our reading skills. Well, sort of! Our humans wrote commands on the ground, and we had to preform the command. "Touch" is when I touch my person's hand with my nose.

Another part of class was practicing to be around medical equipment. This is no biggie to me because I visit the nursing home. I think I got an A+!

Settling!
The tennis court!!! Mom and I practiced our obedience and had a lot of fun playing.

I went to Wegman's. I'm making lots of new friends there.

French Fries!

In my 50th week with Mom, Mom took me to the pet aisle in Wegman's. One would assume that would mean a special treat for me. However, can you believe what Mom had the audacity to buy? CAT FOOD! Oh well. I guess that cats have to eat, too.
In my 50th week with Mom, I chewed my toys a lot.
A dog's nose is as unique as a human's fingerprint!
In my 50th week with Mom, I took naps.
Harlow and I are ready for bed.
This 50th week with Mom was also National Volunteer Week. To thank the volunteers, Guiding Eyes sent out a special thank you card with the Today Show puppy, Wrangler on it. PLUS, a Dunkin Donut gift card with Wrangler's picture on it! Mom was very happy, which made me happy! Thank you, Guiding Eyes!!

Until Next Week,
Lex
