Week 56 from Lex's View

Hello Loyal Readers,
It's been an exciting week for me. I've been as busy as a bee and have had a great week of learning, playing, and exploring...oh, yeah, and babysitting my nephew Kinley! That puppy keeps me on my paws, but in a good way! I ended the week with an exciting outing that I'll never forget. Read all about it in the 56th edition of Lex's View!!!

I started out Week 56 by getting a new toy! It's a green toy that treats can be stuffed into. I love it!
On Saturday night, I went to a Memorial Day concert. Mom was playing in it, and I wore my best bow tie.

I went to church with Kinley.

Our weekly photoshoot
In honor of Memorial Day, I went on an outing (with Kinley) to a National Cemetery.
Sometimes, Kinley likes to give me puppy kisses! He must think I'm a great uncle.
Kinley also uses me as a pillow occasionally!
Head tilt cuteness!

I oversaw Kinley's 12 week photoshoot.
Puppies...they never stay in one place for long!

Purple flowers!

I had to help Mom go to Save-A-Lot to get some last minute items for our Memorial Day picnic.
I took Kinley to the Memorial Day parade. Since it was his first parade, we parked in a parking lot away from the action. We had a great time watching the people and some dogs walk by. I impressed Mom with my check-ins when other dogs walked by.
It was a very quiet parade. Even the fire trucks didn't blow their whistle. Why not, Mom?

Later on Memorial Day, we went swimming! I had a blast!

The toy is drowning!

I must save it!
Lex goes in for the dive!!

What a wonderful day for a swim!!
We ended the holiday with a bonfire. It was great fun!!
We had a great time settling around the campfire.
I went to a park and explored this baseball field. This must be what some people call a "field of dreams!"

I helped deliver the mail to the post office.

Then, I walked around the post office.

I went to Wal-Mart and played on this cart. Mom did a little body handling practice with me being on a raised surface. I aced it!

Early morning head tilt!
Pet aisle in Wal-Mart never gets boring!
I went to Shoe Department with Mom. She tried on several pairs of shoes.
Did I say SEVERAL pairs of shoes? Yep, I napped!
Mom found Kinley and me napping like this, and she couldn't help but smile!

I don't have any pictures of it, but on Wednesday, I attended Kinley's puppy class. I was crated during the class and did a great job being quiet and I only whined once! Then, it was time for me to get my year old shots, which I also don't have any pictures of. (Mom must be slacking!). Anyhow, I got 3 shots, and I was such a brave boy. Kinley was watching me, and since he was getting his 12 week shots after me, I knew I needed to be brave! Yay for me!

I went on a very special outing to Lowe's with Mom and her friend who is a Guiding Eyes puppy raiser/ puppy sitter.

I worked with Mom's friend, and I did a great job. I didn't even mind that Mom was working with Kinley, but stayed focused on my handler.
We had a great time exploring Lowe's together!
I had a weekend guest. Her name is Ginko, and she is almost 3 years old. She decided she didn't want to be a guide dog, so she came home to live with her puppy raising family. They were away for the weekend, so I got to have a friend!
Ginko likes water as much as I do! We all had a blast!
Even though Ginko was there, I didn't forget to play with my Kinley.

We are organized! 2 yellow Labs and 2 black Labs!

On Friday, I went on a very, very special outing. I went to Destiny USA. It's a huge mall!!
Ready to rock and roll at the mall! I've been to malls before, but never one this big!
Posing for Mom!
I took this picture for my brother, Lucky. I think my brother should be president of Lucky Brand, don't you think?! Maybe I'd get a discount on their clothing that way, right bro?
This is a beautiful mall!
Look at this racetrack! When the cars went by, it was loud and the floor vibrated.
There were escalators everywhere! At this point of my training, I can't ride escalators, but I can't wait till I can. They look like so much fun!

Is this a drop off?
Nope! It's a super cool glass elevator, which I did wonderfully riding (several times!),
Glass elevators sure are cool! They're everywhere in this mall!
At first, I thought there was an ocean in the mall, but it was a jumbo screen showing an ocean.

Fifth Saks Avenue

Mom, may I please have a pair of Coach shoes?!!

At Burlington Coat Factory, I found this wooden crate. Okay, Mom says that is a the human baby version of a crate, which is called a crib! Same difference...it keeps the baby contained!
I thought I was in a forest at first!

I went to the outlet, Coach.

Not sure why people get excited about purses with C's on them.
We took lots of breaks for me to nap and for Mom to rest her feet!
Hmmm...there is a sale at Crocs.

T.J. Maxx
Finally...dog items!
I tried on this life vest. At first it was a bit weird feeling, but I adjusted well and walked around nicely.
I've decided that shoe aisles are the most boring places ever. All I do is lie there, but I'm oh so patient!
I went out to eat at a cool dinner called Johnny Rockets.
I settled perfectly under the table for the entire meal. Mom had to wake up when it was time for us to leave.

This fun store called "As Seen on TV." I never did find the TV!

Forever 21
Every store has escalators!
I went to Starbucks and was such a good boy while waiting in line!
I enjoyed looking out these giant windows towards the parking lot.
I watched the carousel, which was so much fun!

Then, I had a special treat....Mom said we could ride the carousel!! I've never done that before. I was SUCH a good boy!

Mom's view of me while riding the carousel. She says it was the best carousel ride ever because I was at her side! Aww that makes me feel warm and fuzzy!

I went to Lenox, which is an expensive fine china store. Mom said I had to be on my best behavior (honestly, Mom! I always am on my best behavior!!). I was extra careful with my tail, though!

Good-bye Destiny USA! It was wonderful to meet you!
...a year later

Until Next Week,
Lex
