Week 16 from Lex's View

Hi Friends!
I've been a busy boy this week. I went to some exciting places, had a super fun reunion, and just had a great time being a dog. I'm 54.1 pounds this week. Mom says that means I'm officially the size of Angelica when she left for college.

Sunday Best

Thankfully, Mom gave me a break from posing, and we played fetch. I love that game!

Mom and me!

Harlow is the best pillow around!

I went on a hike.
The woods is so nice and cool.
Nothing like water to cool off!

Mom and I went to this underpass. There were cars driving over us when we were walking underneath it. It sounded really weird, but I didn't mind it.
Then, we got to walk on this bridge. I checked it out nicely.
There's WATER down there!!!
I did a nice sit for Mom on this weird surface.
Fun bridge!

Mom and I went on the BEST outing ever! It wasn't so much the outing that was super, but who we met on the outing....MY SISTER, LUNA! I was super happy to see her and vice versa, too. Mom says that I seemed happier than usual about seeing another dog....duh...of course, I was. Luna is my sister who I spent like my whole life with before we had to move to different places!

I just had to make sure she was really MY Luna. :)

Freddy Jackson and me! We're best buds!

Luna and I wrote "Luna was here" and "Lex was here."

I went "shopping" in the Bills store.

We got to meet Billy Buffalo. He was super nice, but he didn't talk to us.

We took a break to go potty and get some water.

We got to check out the bleachers. I've never been on bleachers before, but they're really just like regular steps. Neat!

Exploring the bleachers

Finding some shade and settling

Luna and I had to get a few things discussed, since it's been awhile since we've seen each other.

Loose leash walking

Settling at a picnic table

Settling while the practice game is played.

Can you see my bottom teeth? My baby teeth forgot to come out before my big teeth came in....it's this way on the top of my "fang" teeth, too.  But, by the end of the week, I lost one on the top and one of the bottom. 2 more to go!

I waited nicely for the shuttle bus to come. It made a weird sound when it pulled up, but that was okay with me.

Ummm...hello...where is the big seating area?

I guess I can fit in here afterall!

Asleep!

Harlow and I went exploring before my class.

I found this huge puddle to walk thru. Puddles? Check. Got 'em down!

I practiced my reading skills at class. Heel is one of my favorites!

Down

I always try my best to listen intently in class.

Loose Leash Walking to my next "chalk" command.

I went on a walk in a different part of town. I even crossed an intersection. I had to wait until it was safe to cross. Mom says that someday I will learn how to safely cross an intersection without her help. Oh boy! That sounds like quite a job!!!!

If we sleep with our bowl, we'll be sure we will know where it is when we wake up! Plus, it makes quite a nice pillow.

I went to the post office. I was an excellent young man. It was early in the morning, so I only saw one other person. However, the thing that confused me was that there were people behind the mail drop off bins. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't see them. Hmmm...I thought everyone would want to see me face to face!
Still in the post office.
I took a walk around this building...Mom called it a bank-whatever that means!

I went on a really fun outing to a music venue to see Josh Groban!! We had to wait in line for quite a while. I was a great boy and just settled...when I had just gotten comfortable, mom said "let's go" because the line kept moving. This was a great way to practice my settle, then move skills. I also was fantastic about ignoring all the people around me....all that practice work has paid off.

Waiting in line...lots of people were very interested in me (tell you the truth--I think they were jealous that I could attend the concert and their dogs couldn't!!!). Anyhow, one person wanted to know what kind of breed I was and if I was purebred. Yep, I sure am purebred. He guessed I was a short haired golden retriever....I've never seen one of those before!

Did someone say my name?!

I have my ticket in paw!

Waiting for the concert to start. I stayed awake for a little bit...but then...

...I was so tired, I had to nap! Even though the music was loud, and there were lots of people clapping and cheering, I slept through it!

After the concert was over, I posed for a picture.....

..and another picture

Aren't these the most beautiful leaves ever?

Goofy face!

Helping mom split and stack firewood is hard stuff. Thankfully, she gave me a frozen Kong treat, and then, I napped. Yipppeeee!

I'm a great helper!!

                                                                    Until Next Week,
                                                                             Lex
