Week 17 from Lex's View

I went on an outing to help out a local college puppy raising group. First, I posed for a picture!

There were lots of stairs.

Walking down the stairs

I hung out at the GEB table.

I settled nicely and chewed my bone, despite it being VERY loud with music and talking, along with lots of people. Some people were dressed up in costumes!

Harlow and I made a great PR team. Lots of students petted us. I did great with all the people.

Patiently settling

I went to the nursing home with Mom. I wore my shirt that says, "I'm adorable. What's your superpower?"

Nicely waiting to be petted

Walkers with tennis balls...Mom says it didn't look like I noticed the tennis balls. I got her fooled!

I love saying hi to people.

People love me, too!

A belly rub!!! I love these!!!

I went on a hike in the woods. Guess what I saw??! Several deer. They were running very fast. I couldn't quite figure out what they were. They kinda look like me (especially the fawn!). I watched nicely.

Best Friends Forever!!!

I took a nice walk in a different part of town. We had a great time exploring!

I liked this short set of stairs.

Surely they aren't talking to ME?! I'm a guide dog puppy in training!

These stairs were super weird. I handled them really well, even if they feel funny.

Really wide stairs.

Stairs with grass growing out of them. Hmm...

Lexus Series #4
This one is pretty sleak looking!

I went to Wal-Mart. Nooooooo! Please no clothing shopping. Oh phew...it was just a quick browse!

Hello, my name is Lex. How may I help you today?

Shopping for ink.

Mom and I went to Walk and Talks that lasted half a day. It wasn't my WT, but I went to hang out. I was in my crate for a LONG time. Mom took me out to go potty every so often. She also gave me yummy stuffed Kongs and bones. Yummy stuff! I was a good boy in my crate. Sometimes, I just reminded mom I was there...because you know those humans, they're forgetful.
At the end of WT's, I went on a pack walk with 2 of my classmates. I also practiced settling while all the humans talked. I did well, even though it was long and boring to just lay there!

I want to go golfing. Please!!!

I went on another walk in town. I also went on Main Street for the first time. There's a lot to see!

Cool grate!

I think there must be lots of dogs who walk in town because there were some super good smells. Mom and started to play a fun game. If I worked around the area of interest by walking past it or doing obedience, I got to check out the smell. YAY! After a little bit, Mom said my name , so I could practice my name response. When I would respond, Mom threw the biggest party in the history of parties. I love this game

So I went to Walmart again. For awhile, I hung outside and people watched. I also got to chew this bone.

I also got to watch these SUPER cool things called leaves. They were really little, but every so often, the wind would swirl them around. I thought it was really neat and wanted to join the party. Unfortunately, Mom said that I couldn't. Bummer....so instead, Mom and I practiced my name response and check-ins around the leaves. It was a very good alternative, so I was happy!

Beautiful mums!

Then, I went into Walmart. I settled in the shoe aisles.

If I were to buy a pair of slippers, I'd get these!!!

Reflections!

Okay...it's not polite to take pictures of a sleeping dog with his mouth open.......

............Nor pictures of a sleeping dog on his back. When am I going to get these humans trained?!

I kicked off the weekend by going to a pool party. There was food (for the humans!) and ice cubes for me. I hung out very nicely. Have a great Labor Day weekend!
                                                                      Until Next Week,
                                                                                Lex

  2. Thanks, Jamie!! Mom says that she loves the picture, too. I think the best pictures are the ones that just happen...Now if I could get mom to understand that, she'd have a lot more space on her camera!!! Humans will be humans ~Lex
